Halunder Jet, offshore
from Heligoland to Canada
The Heligoland ferry ‘Halunder Jet’ has served the crossing from Hamburg to Heligoland via Wedel and Cuxhaven for 15 years. On 1st May 2018, it will now change its deployment location. In the future, the catamaran will be operated between Vancouver and Victoria for the shipping company Clipper Navigation, part of the FRS Group.
On behalf of Flensburg-based FRS Heligoline GmbH & Co. KG, PPS. gave the high-speed vessel a completely new design. Around 1,300 m² were newly laminated with the PPS. HT Offshore Film in white, blue and red to reflect the corporate design of Clipper Vacations Vancouver.
Within just ten days, the Industrial Applications Team at PPS. pre-treated the surfaces and applied the PPS. HT Offshore Film on the entire hull beneath the water line. What is special about this film is that no base coat is necessary. Ninety percent of the work took place with the use of five lifting platforms. Nine film applicators and five sanders were responsible for the project in the Hamburg wharf Blohm + Voss.
The new Victoria Clipper is a genuine head-turner for all passengers and harbour visitors in Victoria and Vancouver, thanks to its upgraded look. PPS. Imaging GmbH completed this project to the fullest satisfaction of the client.
